Globalization: An Inquiry through Photography

Showcase

What an exciting opportunity to learn with, and from, each other. The teachers participating in the Professional Learning Series ranged from grade 2 to high school. We all benefitted from the global perspective shared by one of our participants who joined us from France.

Student photos

Michelle and Allyson introduced the basics of digital photography to their students. After experimenting with various techniques, the students voted on their favorites. Have a look at their top picks. Not bad for grade two!

Arctic Project

When Michelle and Allyson participated in the Professional Learning Series their students were almost finished studying Regions of Canada. Have a look at how the students demonstrate their understandings through writing and digital photography.

Dawne's Experiment

One of Dawne's main motivations for participating in the Professional Learning Series was to take the opportunity to explore different photographic and digital editing techniques.

Judy's trip to Chinatown

One of the participating teachers, Judy, took her students on a fieldtrip to Chinatown in the middle of the Professional Learning series. Judy created her own mini-photoessay to get the hang of it. Then had her students share their impressions of the Chinese cutlure through images and text.
